Hope for the High Country: Help Us Feed Avery County Families This Summer
Families in Avery County need our help. It’s that simple.
The road to recovery after Hurricane Helene is long, and as summer approaches, many local children are facing a season of complete uncertainty. Too many kids in the community don't know where their next meal is coming from, or who will provide it.
To answer this urgent call, Feeding Avery Families—the county's leading food bank—has partnered with No Child Hungry, Queen City Homestore, and the Grandfather Community Foundation for Hope for the High Country - Part 2. We are stepping up to provide the food these families desperately need, but we can't do it alone. That’s where you come in.

Thanks to amazing early support, our first 125,000 meals are already covered! However, the need is still great. We want to push the number of meals higher and provide kid-friendly, ready-to-eat snack bags—a true lifesaver for parents during the summer months.
We invite your organization to choose the support level that best fits your goals:
A No Child Hungry Meal provides a nutrient-dense meal packed with all the vitamins and minerals a person needs for a full day, and costs only 70 cents. That's ingredients, distribution, everything.
Each NCH Snack Bag is a hefty, kid-friendly pack of ready-to-eat food designed to last one person several days. Each Snack Bag costs just $8.20.
