Our Story and Our Team

No Child Hungry's origin isn't one of rainbows and butterflies.  But it is one of divine inspiration and an amazing journey.  And it's a journey we invite you to join.  Once you do, your life will be changed in the very best way!

 

The story of No Child Hungry starts in the mountains of Haiti.  While on a medical mission trip to the poorest country in the western hemisphere, our founder, William Lowry, watched as three children in the remote location died of starvation, all within a week.  These children, ages 4-7, suffered an unimaginable end to their far-too-short lives.  It was then and there that William knew he had to focus his efforts on providing food to children in need.  Three words entered his mind.  No Child Hungry.  Since, what started as a vision has become a movement, today having supplied more than 70 million meals to hungry children.  And, we're just getting started!

Over the years, our team has grown.  And every member of the team had a rather remarkable path that led to their decision to join the team.  We come from diverse backgrounds and a wide array of careers prior to No Child Hungry.  But we also have one thing in common - once this organization touched our lives, we knew we'd found something special.  And, we're not done growing.  Not by a long shot.  As our mission to feed more children in need continues to grow, so too will our team.  We're a wildly efficient organization, so our growth is planned, it's responsible, and it's purpose-driven.  And it's so much fun!
