On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall on the southern shore of Jamaica. The Category 5 storm, with winds exceeding 180 miles per hour, caused immense damage across the island nation.
At No Child Hungry, our response begins with 500,000 meals. More will likely be needed in the months ahead, as the recovery will be long. We'll also be sending hygiene kits and Stop Hunger Bags, as both are powerful resources in crisis.
The need in Jamaica is immense. The need will be present for many months to come, but with your help, we'll be right there. We need an army of caring people, just like you, to join this effort. No contribution is too large, and none is too small. All make a BIG difference.
There are multiple ways to get involved. First, we need your support to keep the meals moving. Donations to help with shipping are much needed. Second, we'll need to send even more meals, so you can fund as many as you'd like - and they're only 40¢ each for this effort, thanks to amazing supporters and suppliers! And finally, you can volunteer. Our warehouse in Apopka, Florida, is sure to be busy in the coming days and weeks, so helping hands are needed and appreciated.

Wave One: Basics
Our initial response will include the provision of 500,000 meals, hygiene kits, and Stop Hunger Bags. Each fills a critical area of need for kids and families displaced by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica.
